After a year of distance learning, I want to have my students really enjoy their year in person. As such, I want to create an entire Harry Potter inspired classroom for them to enjoy. I have enjoyed this franchise myself and have come to realize that my students love it as well. So I want to use that to encourage in these kids a desire to read and learn. I feel that the way to do so will be to make my classroom as much like the world of Harry Potter as I can. By doing so I believe that I will create an atmosphere will make them want to come to school each day. My goal is to have my enthusiasm for the Harry Potter series foster a love of reading in my class. The door curtain will make the students feel they are being transported into a new world. The house banners will be used to create the class houses (student groups) to help facilitate teamwork and unity for class projects. The pencil wands will be used on journal assignments for my students (with the instruction of wands out). This project will help my students with comprehension and enthusiasm for reading great books!
