Flexible seating is an important part of my classroom model. Many of my students have a harder time sitting still in the classroom or sitting at the typical desk. Flexible seating options stimulate students’ sense of touch. This type of stimulation can help children focus and process information. Sensory input is especially helpful for students with ADHD, ADD, and ASD. These flexible seating options will give both my neurodiverse and my neurotypical students the ability to be more comfortable and attentive in their learning environment while staying safe as we are more able to clean these between student use.
