At a title 1 school, many students experience uncertainty in their lives. Sometimes, school is the only stable and consistent place in their lives. Also, students don't always have people at home who support their education. It is my job to show them I care, and give them all the materials necessary to make them succeed. Scholastic News has great resources to keep kids connected to events happening in our world today. Students will be able to read, relate, and write about current events. Studies show that students who find content to relate to, are more likely to succeed. Additionally, Scholastic has great book buys that include a range of books for students to read. The more options students have, of books to read, the more likely they are to engage in reading.
