These materials will make students transition at the beginning of the school year more meaningful, fun, and creative. It will help me create a classroom environment and culture where all students feel accepted, celebrated, and loved to the ends of the earth. It will also stretch their knowledge in hands-on learning, using manipulatives to visually see the concepts taught this year. Kids learn in many different ways, so being able to present students with multiple forms of knowledge is a big part of my teaching philosophy. Specifically, I will use the multiple inclusion books for whole class lessons on how to treat all kinds of people who walks into my classroom. I will also use the community building books at the beginning of the year to set the stage for how our classroom will look, and use them for reteaching when they have conflict that goes against our classroom community.
