My students struggle with coming to school with the tools they need to succeed. They come to the first day of school without backpacks and the essential school supplies they need every day. I want my students to know when they walk in on the first day of school they do not need to worry about things like supplies. I want them to know how much I and other adults care about them. I want them to feel secure in themselves and know they will have everything they need to have a successful school year.
