With iPads, we will be able to use language-based applications in our small groups and individual sessions to identify, treat, and engage our students in lessons targeted to their specific needs. Technology is used in classrooms now more than ever, and can also be used to help students meet their speech and language goals. Diagnostic applications such as Basic Concepts Skills Screener (BCSS), Articulation Test Center Pro, and The Profile of Phonological Awareness (Pro-PA) are digital tools that will allow us to assess student conceptual knowledge, speech sounds, and phonemic awareness skills to develop RTI and IEP based treatment plans. Interactive therapy tools such as IXL, Epic, and ABCYa can be used to support grammar, literacy, and written communication in a way that improves attention and student engagement.
