Ensuring that students are healthy and ready to learn is the most important part of my job. The majority of my day involves teaching students the importance of staying hydrated, eating nutritious foods, and taking care of their bodies to feel their best and be prepared to learn. Due to the pandemic, our students do not have access to our drinking fountains. More and more students need bottles of water to help them hydrate throughout the day. Additionally, the tiny refrigerator currently in my office does not have a freezer to store ice packs for injuries. A new refrigerator and freezer combination will provide ample space to store cold bottled waters for my students, as well as medications that are required to be refrigerated and extra snacks for those who need them. The freezer space will enable me to keep ice packs cold and store treats for students with allergies.
