The love of reading is key to becoming a lifelong reader. Regardless of reading achievement, students who love to read grow. So much of reading, in school, focuses on skill instruction, and while that is important, if children don't read for enjoyment, no matter how skilled they become, they will never become readers. I would like to provide students with the opportunity to discuss literature, with their peers, based around shared novels. This is challenging, especially with struggling readers. I would like to provide more opportunities for my struggling readers to tackle novels.

About my class
