Students will be able to color coordinate the different parts of word problems and equations to help them determine the steps to correctly solve each problem. Markers, crayons, highlighters, and dry erase markers will give students every opportunity to participate in engaging, rigorous lessons. Color coding supports mathematical thinking by helping the students organize their thoughts to make connections from problem to problem. Visual representations in math helps students of all learning modalities to better understand their thought processes and recall. Giving students the necessary supplies, helps alleviate their stress and gives them the opportunity to become responsible learners.
