I am a second-year teacher that has been working to incorporate technology in my classroom as much as possible. Currently, I only have one teaching laptop to work from in the classroom. Being a second-grade teacher, I am constantly moving about the classroom, switching desks, and walking throughout the school. Having an iPad handy to help plan, manage student attendance and behavior, and quickly access teaching resources would be incredibly helpful and convenient. The iPad and Pencil would be used not only to help me, but to facilitate my students' learning and engagement during whole-class lessons and small groups. There are many apps and websites available that can be used on the iPad to strengthen the students' understanding of a topic or to provide extra support when they are struggling. The students see the iPad as a fun, helpful tool. The iPad and Pencil will be necessary and fundamental additions to our classroom technology.
