Brain breaks are great for children's learning. The best brain break we can give the kids is the creativity they have during recess. Due to COVID-19, our outdoor play area has been divided into three zones, which classes are assigned to. Two of which have no source of shade. Our students are from Southern Oregon and it gets hot here! Our students come out to recess twice a day and we have no shady areas! As it's getting warmer, our students have been trying to find shade in some of the most creative ways, such as behind the basketball hoops. By having two pop up tents outside, our students will be able to take breaks from the heat and cool off! We are still working on social distancing, which will only allow for a few students at a time. This is crucial to our students mental and physical health! Please help us get these kids some shade so they can be happy and healthy as we finish the school year strong!
