Students will be able utilize experiential learning by doing a hands-on project of making a net. The net can used for a fruit picker, scoop net or just the foundation for creating bigger projects. The students will be able to take it home and work on it. The students learn better by actually doing something with their hands. I believe the retention factor is much higher, It is also a cultural thing, Hawaiians have a saying, "Mai Ka Hana Ka 'Ike". By doing one learns. A making a net is definitely cultural. A lost art that I hope some will continue.
