My students are low readers, they come from economically challenged homes. Many are from families that do not speak English at home. I believe by using manipulative's and adding music will help them finally succeed and become successful readers. Since I am a new teacher and these students are coming to me mid year, they are used to using these materials. I believe I can make a difference in their lives. I just know these things would make it so much easier and engaging.
