The iPad and durable case we are requesting for our students with limited verbal communication will be put to good use as soon as we receive them. We know just when and how we are going to use them. We just need your help to get them.
The donations to this project will help our students' understand and use their iPad as a communication device to talk with friends and teachers resulting in decreased frustration!
By having an iPad for modeling and teaching, our students will see the power of using their picture vocabulary on a device to make others understand what we are saying throughout each day. We will use the iPad to model using vocabulary and a variety of ways to communicate. We will continue to expand their vocabulary offering our students life-long learning opportunities. They will be able to talk about what they like, ask people about their interests, let people know what they do not like, and support their friends. It will be used in the classroom, lunchroom, and at other social times. Our team knows that research supports growth in communication skills through the use of modeling or aided language input using a device with picture vocabulary to communicate. We sincerely appreciate your support.
