My students are having difficulty taking academic risks after learning under Covid restrictions and need a joyful outlet. The art supplies will take literary analysis to another part of their brains and allow them to approach literature creatively and independently while working at a high level of rigor. We will undertake a classic poem and author like "The Two Trees" by WB Yeats and confront the literary analysis through art (with fantastic supplies...something my low socioeconomic students rarely get), allowing the students to grapple with the poem independently and creatively while working with a high level of rigor.
