This book will allow students to read about the issues facing the African American community from home and in the school together so a thoughtful discussion can occur. By having the ability to use an actual book, students will be able to take the book home to a comfortable location and really look at history and its effects on today. Together as a class, this amazing book will be a small part of the bigger discussion concerning the African American experience. This book will further help our students understand and successfully discuss the past and future so change can happen at the grassroots level.

About my class
