Being motivated to read is an essential factor in becoming a successful reader. Providing students with choice is a prime way to support reading motivation in students. This project will be used to foster motivation in reading and prevent learning loss over the summer months. By choosing books that interest them, students will bring books home to increase their engagement with reading over the summer months; typically a time where a lot of learning loss occurs. By donating to our project, you will instill the love of reading in my students throughout the summer by providing engaging books to choose from. Motivated readers want to read and read. An increase in reading also increases reading stamina. This project will help enrich their reading experience.
