Students need their own copies of books to complete required reading, learn responsibility, and sense of independence. Currently, students can only complete reading assignments in class, as there are not enough books to distribute to students across the grade. They cannot complete reading for homework assignments, or challenge themselves to read independently with in-class text because it is not accessible. Students have read on the computer for more than a year, and they deserve to be able to read books, and access text in an appropriate way. They can only do this with hard copies of books.
