Students watch a 50 minute video in my class everyday, and I have 6 classes a day. That means this mini projector is running 25 hours each week. However, students are not able to see clearly. The light is dim and I have adjacent windows. Having a TV in the classroom will not benefit virtual students, however the majority of students in my campus are face to face. I have a total of 111 students within 13 different homeroom classes. I am the Music teacher and my students view the PE, Music, Art and Counseling videos each week in my room.
I know my students would greatly benefit by not having to strain their eyes to see their lesson. Their daily mantra is "Miss! I can't see!" Lessons are already difficult to make due to this pandemic craziness, but them not being able to see is the even worse.
I already asked to see if there was room in our schools budget to get a TV in my classroom, but the technology focus for this year is for every student to have a device at school. I could ask for another projector light bulb but because of the hours I'm logging, It wont be but a couple year before I'll need another, and it takes the school half a school year to receive it. That means I'll end up paying for it out of pocket. Any help is much appreciated!!
