In our 9th grade STEM Physics classes, students are excited to finally be able to collaborate with peers and participate in hands-on learning in their science classroom, after nearly two years of distance learning. These filters will help students feel safer while engaging with their peers at lab stations, and ease their anxiety about being in close proximity to others. In our Earth and Space Science classes, students will also study the atmosphere and the effects of pollution. These filters are a great way to introduce discussions around air quality, something our students are greatly affected by due to the global pandemic and the seasonal wildfires in Oregon.
