Books are important for student's success in school. It is also a way for them to learn about their world. Some families are not able to purchase books for their homes. Some teachers struggle to provide several book options for their classrooms. Reading is key for students to navigate their world. In my school, most of my students do not go on vacations to see the ocean, mountains, or historical places. They need books to learn about the world that is bigger than their backyards. Books can also help them learn about the people in their world and how to get along and show kindness with the diversity they face. In my school district, most parents do not purchase from book orders and teachers can't earn free classroom books. It is on the teacher to provide classroom libraries and it gets very costly to purchase a variety of books at different levels and topics. This grant would be a blessing to help both my students and myself. The students would benefit from the knowledge in the books. I would have help providing the much-needed resources to cultivate learning. Reading is fun and important to our world.
