This year, I would like to use Maus I: A Survivor's Tale: My Father Bleeds History as an anchor text in my classroom. Art Spiegelman's graphic novel will provide my students with an engaging text that appeals to the most hesitant of readers. The goal of including Maus I as an anchor text in my classroom is to provide an essential and engaging book that allows my students to have relevant discussions about how trauma associated with historical events can impact future generations. By funding this project, you are giving students the opportunity to cultivate a love of reading.
