I have the honor of teaching in a small K - 8 charter school in rural Phoenix. My students range in age from 5 years old, in Kindergarten, to 13 years old when they are ready to leave 8th grade. Many of them grow up with me and I have the privilege of watching them improve with time and practice. I love helping them interpret the world around them and express it with their art. At every age, they enter my art classroom eager to learn and experiment with colors and shapes. They love getting messy with paint, markers, and chalk. Their faces light up with joy as they are working and even they are sometimes surprised by their beautiful masterpieces.
