So many of our students come to school hungry, if they come at all, or they feel they are too far behind to make up their learning, so they don't bother to attend either in person or virtual/distance. We hold a weekly raffle for our students to incentivize their attendance. They earn 1 ticket for each day they attend school, so the more days they attend, the more chances they have of winning a yummy snack basket! This gives them something to look forward to and helps provide some of that external motivation that many at-risk students need.
