After a year of being separated from friends and only being able to sit in one space to learn, with little flexibility to meet student needs, my class would greatly benefit from seating in our classroom that would allow them to be comfortable while they learn. I personally do not work well when I feel uncomfortable and I know my students feel the same way. They deserve room and seating tools that will allow them to be flexible with their minds as they are flexible with their bodies! Research has shown that students learn best when they are given the opportunity to learn in this way. These flexible seating chairs would allow students in my low-income school classroom to spend less time meeting their social-emotional needs, and more time focusing on the reason they come to school in the first place, to learn!
