Students within my classroom learn better when distractions are reduced and learning spaces are clearly designated. The shape of this table will ease my access to provide direct instruction and support to each student as well as an updated group instruction area. The white board divider has a dual purpose. First, it will provide a designated learning space with clear boundaries that helps to reduce distractions to other things going on in the classroom so that students can focus on learning. Second, it provides an up close space for students and teachers to work on spelling, writing, or math problems interactively as a group, and increase engagement. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a quiet, organized space with clear boundaries.
