Without the use of technology right now my job would not be possible. The technology provided by our school district is outdated and makes it nearly impossible to teach, inspire and reach students the way I would like to as a distance learning teacher. A Macbook would make it possible to reach students in an engaging and fun way during their online learning. The time it takes to currently load and deliver lessons with my outdated technology is taking away from critical learning time. A Macbook would allow me to deliver my lessons more efficiently due to the ability to rapidly load teaching videos, and share my screen, and switch between tabs quickly. This Macbook would also provide students with opportunities to interact with applications that allow them to collaborate with their fellow classmates virtually. “Technology is just a tool - In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is most important" – Bill Gates. Being a teacher of kindergarten students trying to learn completely virtual is difficult enough as it is, without the proper tools to help my students succeed and be the best learners they can break my heart. I hate seeing valuable learning time be wasted due to the limitations being put on myself and my students from insufficient technology. With high hopes that we will move back into the classroom full time, this Macbook would then be used to enhance their learning in the classroom. For example, it could be connected to my SmartBoard to allow students to interact with lessons in a digital format. It would also allow me to use a document camera to display books, activity sheets, and other educational items larger and more clearly. A Macbook would overall enhance learning opportunities for all of my students!
