This set of novels will be used to discover American Literature through a feminist and gothic lens. Oftentimes, novels offered at the school level provide little challenge and routine stories, or they're too challenging and students make no real connection to the text. The hope is that we can offer a several different texts throughout the Junior English curriculum so that students are exposed to not only a variety of literature and lenses, but that they have some choice in what texts they read. In doing so, we may be able to reach more students and allow for more genuine connections to the material.

About my class
