These resources will continue to enhance the love of reading and follow the Nevada Academic Content Reading Standards, such as retelling stories with key details (RL.1.2). Explaining the differences between fiction and nonfiction text (RL.1.5). And, learn how to use various text features (RI.1.5). All of the books and materials that have been chosen have been with my students in mind. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading as well during small reading groups. My students will be able to choose from a variety of reading material for them to learn how to read independently at their own grade level. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these resources will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading and enrich their literacy experiences.
