These materials will be used to help my students understand how heredity is the passage of genetic instructions from one generation to the next generation. They will recognize that inherited traits of individuals are passed on through genes and how it all works. They will work in small groups to complete an alien with traits that they flip a coin for and then participate in a game with their alien to see if the traits passed on will survive in a given environment. By doing this, I hope to see a better understanding of how heredity and genetics works.
