The parachute is one of the best activities from young to old in our school that I use to promote teamwork and upper body fitness. Besides all that, it is just all-around fun for the students. My old parachute has thin material that is ripping around the edge where the students hold on so it needs replacing. Mats have a wide variety of uses in class that range from tumbling to an assortment of activities that promote creative thinking and teamwork. Replacing our old mats from the 1970s is expensive which in turn makes the process slow. The old mats are worn and are not up to today's standards for padding. I am currently working with admin to replace our old mats but there simply isn't enough money to replace the old ones (from the 1970s) fast enough.
