These lower-level reading books are just what our library needs to help our students who struggle the most with reading. Just this past year, our 4th and 5th-grade campus added 3rd grade as well. Our library is lacking and in need of books for the younger kids and for those students who have regressed in their skills over the past year. As the students return to campus next month, after more than a year of distance learning, I hope to meet their needs with exciting, new books for them to learn from and enjoy. My hope is that these "easy readers" will boost their self-confidence and propel them forward in their reading skills and comprehension. The secret to teaching reluctant readers so that they turn into enthusiastic readers is to give them the tools in which to do so.
