With this opportunity and materials, my students will be able to read books that are appropriate reading level without the judgement of their peers. Many of my students are reading below grade level and struggle with participating in the classroom. They further learn to not like to read because of this. I am trying to change that for them. The best way to improve reading skills is the time and tested way: by reading! Oftentimes my kiddos are only given printed copies of a text and they often look at other students who have bound books and think to themselves that they are "second-hand". These books will be able to motivate and inspire them to want to read more.
