One benefit over the last 12 months has been a great increase in technology in the classroom. We have added numerous programs to help improve engagement and track learning in the classroom. Unfortunately, the programs have to be run from the desktop at my desk preventing me from interacting with students around the room. Currently, I am able to use my phone to remotely control some of the apps and programs we are using, but functionality is either limited due to the platform or inhibited due to the size of the screen. The requested Apple iPad and Apple pencil will free me from the desk and be able to guide students through the lesson using our various programs and platforms from anywhere in the room. This will have both instructional and management benefits, a well as increasing engagement.
