I will use these books in a "book club" fashion to read in a small group setting. These books are especially significant because they are high interest but lower level for easier decoding. This will enable my students to be successful with reading and ignite their passion for reading that will continue throughout their life. I teach special education to 4th and 5th grade students who struggle with but have a love for reading. They have worked on fluency and phonics really hard this year and have discovered that they can in fact read. I purchased a "Hey Jack" series and a "Billie B Brown" series that they have just devoured! However I am lacking low leveled readers that are on the interest level. I'm hoping that I will get some donations so that I can keep their passion for reading growing with them as they grow as young readers.
