My third graders are very motivated to become successful readers in English and Spanish, as well as to develop their creative and artistic self. For example: when learning the difference between the main idea and the details in a story (or a non-fictional text), they will gain a deeper understanding and better retain the new vocabulary if they can draw or paint their own vision of those descriptive words (be it a character, a setting, or an event). Your donation to this list of desired items will help my students learn two languages by pouring their imagination out on colorful canvases and includes a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card. My highly creative students love to see themselves as writers and illustrators of stories they can read or stories they can pen. Applying art to depict new concepts in Math, Science, and Social Studies is a real treat for my class too! The art supplies will be shared between our in-person and our virtual students. The projects can be completed in the classroom with me, or at home with a parent or tutor. Thank you for any contribution you can make to our project!
