Students need access to high-quality literature at home as well as at school. The book I have chosen teaches about important science concepts relating to space, a 5th-grade science standard. It is written by a well renowned scientist--Stephen Hawkings and his daughter, Lucy--in a funny, imaginative way with characters that 5th-graders can relate to. Most importantly, this project puts a high-quality, high-interest book in each student's hands! They will use it in the classroom, and can take it home if we are locked down again, keeping our instruction consistent and ongoing.
