Our school is going to transform their current "playground", a slab of cracked asphalt, into an outdoor greenspace. The greenspace will include natural spaces, areas to help reduce runoff, and room for our students to have fun being active outside. The students spend most of the day sitting inside and must have opportunities to be active. It is important for them to have appealing activities to help get their bodies moving! Gaga ball is a perfect example. Known as "The Great Equalizer" in playground sports, Gaga requires no special athletic skill or ability. The students get a great workout while honing their motor skills. A gaga ball pit would be an excellent addition to the greenspace, giving a large group of students the chance to safely expend their energy in a fun, interactive way. It will provide exciting gameplay without skinned knees from falling on rough asphalt. Gaga ball, a safe variation of dodgeball, adds an exciting element to recess that the students would look forward to every day.
