We have dedicated reading time each day to expose students to authentic young literature, but very few books in our classroom to choose from. Students have a school library time once a week, but I want to offer students a classroom that celebrates writing and rewards reading. Books ordered are high interest-lower level to help those that have been affected by missed in-school learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our plan is to create reading competitions and celebrations to get to know our FIRST classroom library. Simply put, I want to promote reading, but need books to do it.
