The classroom that I have just inherited has been being used as storage for materials left behind by retired teachers. This space was cluttered and unorganized, but I've been working very hard to clear things out and make space for my students to be able to stand up and move around the classroom. My goal is to create a relaxing classroom environment. This project will provide a comfortable library area and flexible seating, which will allow me the opportunity to work in smaller groups and tailor lessons to the needs of differently leveled students. I hope that this strategy of small group teaching will help each student hit milestones that are appropriate and attainable for the individual child.
