Our Title I school has very little funding for our health/physical education program. Mental health has been one of my main priorities with my students during this time. However, it has been near impossible making sure my virtual students are receiving the same instruction as my in-person students when having to teach simultaneously. I like to start off with social emotional activities and then move into our physical education routine. I have purchased a camera in hopes this would work. However, it did not help our situation because the in-person students still could not hear or see the virtual students. The students who are virtual rarely get the social emotional or physical piece because they cannot hear or see the in-person students when we stream live from a laptop. The items in this project will allow me to use the Smart TV and soundbar to teach the students virtually, and allow them to interact with their peers during our lessons effectively. Not only will this benefit the entire school's Health/ PE classes, but it will also be used for school wide presentations, as we currently do not have any type of technology in our gym. We currently hold our school wide programs/ceremonies also in this location and at times we have very limited space. This technology would provide us with so many opportunities, such as the capability to live stream school wide ceremonies and productions. Parents, relatives, and friends will never have to miss a school event/production again!
