My students are not always set up for success on their way to school. Many times, they have not had breakfast, brushed their teeth, or put on fresh clothing. While we are diligently and systematically working to enrich their education and empower them to live more stable lives, their basic living needs are not met on a day to day basis. Often times, my students come to school without their basic needs met. My hope is for this small project to provide some confidence and self care to my 9th grade students. We all know the refreshing feeling of minty toothpaste, or the feeling of taking on the day after washing our face in the morning. By creating a closet with face wash, deodorant, lotion, toothbrushes, and feminine products, I hope to help raise my students self esteem and confidence. When we feel good about ourselves, we are more likely to have a little more pep in our step, a little more focus, and a little more drive. This boost will translate into better focus and achievement in their core content areas. Thank you for donation - my students and I are so happy to have you!!
