While personal protective equipment, masks, and regular screenings are well-known tools to keep students from spreading Covid-19, air purification technology also has a role to play. It is particularly imperative in school buildings such as our school, that was built in 1950s. Air purifiers for our Library Media Center and hopefully, for few more classrooms and/or common areas, would be beneficial as part of a safe re-opening, as it may be able to help reduce the chances of transmission between students. The goal is to help protect the students and make them feel safe when we return back to school. I am hoping to raise approximately $5,000.00 . Anything over that could be put towards filter replacement for future academic school years. Filters are intended to last about three thousand hours or six months. Hopefully, this will allow teachers and students to remain safe and help everyone feel a bit more comfortable. While this is a bit of expanse, the air purifiers are intended to help reduce the spread of a variety of viruses, bacteria, mold, dust, and pollen, particularly in old school buildings. Most hospitals and medical buildings are equipped with air purifying systems. Our children and staff deserve to be protected as well!
