Students are constantly are fidgety. This is made even worse in the COVID classroom where students cannot move around as freely and where they are readjusting to sitting in desks for the school day. Having a chance to wiggle in their seat helps to relieve the anxiety and allows them to better focus when they are able to get their wiggles out while they sit! Centering student social and emotional well-being during this time of return is a positive step toward finding success in the unusual classroom setting. These tools will allow me to expand bouncy bands for all students who want them and will allow me to give them a writing station at their desk with fun paper for creating during a time when they are limited in their movement and interactions.
