My project is the ability to provide more individualized support for my students through live video instruction. Often times during remote live instruction via Google Meet or Zoom, my students feel embarrassed to participate and engage in whole-class discussions due to their disability or limited language proficiency. So, I invite them to separate meetings so that they feel comfortable reading out loud or asking me questions without the fear of judgment from their peers. However, this can get extremely overwhelming when it's done from a small laptop. At one point, I was using my phone, my laptop, and my sister's iPad so that I could be in separate meetings simultaneously. This is very inconvenient because oftentimes students need to share their screens with me and I can barely see what they are working on. A second monitor would be an immense help that would allow me to provide my Students with Disabilities, and my English Language Learners with the one-on-one attention they need and deserve to excel remotely.
