My Zoom classes can be large. I have one class with 35 students. With that many students, it becomes difficult to see all my students at once. For example, just taking attendance alone takes 9 minutes because I have to look through two pages of Zoom to mark a student present and this takes away from instruction. However, with a 23.8 inch monitor, I can see all of my 35 students at once, and can finish taking attendance in 5 minutes! Secondly, because this is a Journalism/Yearbook class, we typically analyze historical videos, interviews, and other video footage, and it becomes difficult having all those items on one screen (the Zoom, the videos, and monitoring the chat). Having the Zoom on the 23.8 monitor would allow me to better engage my students in instruction and discussion while focusing on instruction in the second screen.
