iPads are an essential piece of the daily interventions we use in our behavioral special education program. The students we support have varying behavioral, academic and social emotional needs and use the devices to help build and track their skills to self-monitor using direct teacher feedback. In the past, we tracked this crucial information manually. With the use of the iPads, we are more accurately able to identify and address immediate student needs as well as long term trends and patterns. Due to the nature of our program and the students using the iPads, there is an increased risk of damage the devices. We are in dire need of protective cases so they last as long as possible, and so we don’t have to revert to the old pen and paper tracking methods we used to use. By donating to our project, you will not only help increase the lifespan of our iPads, you will help improve and increase student data tracking and goal setting, which will ultimately improve our students’ rate of success with behavior, academic and social emotional learning.
