It isn’t just about picking out a pair of headphones in your favorite color, it is about being able to participate in a wider variety of activities in the classroom. Try using headphones to incorporate music or games into lesson plan. You can also use the headphones as a reward for good behavior, allowing them to use them with their favorite toy or computer game when they do well. This encourages them to perform better in the classroom and can help keep their attention. Information is the key to success, but not everyone understands it in the same way. Some students learn better by having facts or instructions repeated to them throughout the day. Others learn through interaction and finding ways to apply the facts to things they already understand.
