These books and supporting activities will greatly help to improve my students’ increase their language literacy. My students enjoy going to speech therapy because I create an environment that is fun and at the same time promotes learning through speech and language activities. I would really like them to have access to these items such as books and storytelling kits, reading and comprehension activities, phonemic awareness games, early language activities that I’ve chosen because I believe that this is a great opportunity for them to learn and improve their literacy skills, speech sound skills, and expressive and receptive communication skills. The best way to increase language and literacy skills is to learn to understand storybooks, read them, and talk about them by story retelling and answering questions about the book. My students have already been steadily progressing and this project will help greatly improve and enrich their experiences in books.
