My students are learning virtually due to the pandemic. After a year of learning from home, I was weary of teaching to black screens embossed with names, since the students refused to turn on their cameras. Finally, I launched a 'Weary of Talking to Myself' campaign and started to encourage a cameras-on environment. The response was amazing, however, I can barely see their beautiful faces on the tiny laptop screen from which I teach, and I know that with a larger screen, I can more quickly identify which student is talking to me and who is trying to participate! I am hoping for a larger monitor so that I can bring my lessons to life, using screen annotation tools and other learning activities that will further engage the students.
